LÙCHEN  FW24 PRESENTATION   [More...]

MIGRATE, an inherently cyclical behavior since the inception of life, embodies a recurring pursuit of certainty amid pervasive uncertainty, and vice versa.

Numerous artists have engaged in an exploration of this subject from multifaceted perspectives encompassing politics, race, and culture. In her role as a designer and an individual, Lu Chen, having relocated LÜCHEN from New York to Paris in 2023, shared personal insights on it.
Within this exhibition, we curated 10 artworks originating from disparate countries (regions), conceived by practitioners within the realms of tashion, art, and industrial design.

This collection encompasses the deconstruction, disruption, and subsequent reconstruction of mudane objects, introspective examinations of the notion of home, a perpetual manifestation of ephemeral objects entwined in the migration process. Ultimately, the entirety of the works within this space was entrusted to artificial intelligence, which composed a narrative about migration and connection.

The act of moving to Paris brings both uncertainty and certainty. The former is the norm in an era of anxiety and turmoil, yet certainty lies in our ability to connect and confront these challenges in unison.

The exhibition features original artworks created entirely from authentic RIMOWA aluminum suitcases and spare parts. At each destination, local artists are invited to contribute new works to the growing collection.

The exhibition has traveled across five cities on three continents, bringing together more than 60 original artworks.

As the final chapter of the tour, the Berlin exhibition brought together works from previous editions while inviting local artists to create bespoke pieces.
RIMOWA FRANKFURT CITYGUIDE   [More...]

Frankfurt has long been known primarily as a transit point for travellers or as a financial centre. However, this German city deserves a different designation, owed not only to its historical roots dating back to the Romans but also to its distinct neighbourhoods that come alive with their iconic architecture. The liveliness in these areas is enhanced by numerous cafes, galleries, and restaurants. Formally known as Frankfurt am Main, this city stands as a diverse metropolis, asserting itself as more than just a stopover — and ultimately appealing to discerning travellers seeking its rich cultural identities.

Home to Germany's only skyline standing along the picturesque Main River, Frankfurt follows Berlin and Cologne in RIMOWA's continuous exploration of its home country. We look to the city's many districts to uncover the spaces that form its energy and shape its identity, as proudly charted by its locals.

Not least impressive is the 22-hectare jungle at the heart of the city, the sprawling food market dating back over a century and the galleries and museums that have contributed to Frankfurt's reputation as a hub for contemporary art. From the unmissable hotspots to the locals' best-kept secrets, these are Frankfurt's most treasured destinations.
